The Timok Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church

Holy Trinity monastery is located 17 km south east of Knjaževac, between Donja and Gornja Kamenica. This church is endowment of despot Lazar, the youngest son of Ðurađ Branković, which is testified by the inscription in the mortar, known about from the transcript made by prior Pantelejmon. The inside of the church was painted but nothing of original paintings has been preserved. Visible are only a few fragments of frescoes in the dome and parvis (‘The Final Judgment’), which belong to the reconstruction from the first half of the 19th century. Apart from this church a smaller necropolis was found there. The monastery is still active.
